Problem Description

The error message "Charging station blocked" or "No loop signal" appears, and the robotic mower cannot dock properly or does not charge despite being correctly positioned in the charging station. Often the LED light on the charging station flashes blue, indicating signal problems. This problem affects both wired and EPOS installations and can have various causes.

Affected Models: All models with charging station (305, 310, 315, 320, 405X, 415X, 420, 430X, 440, 450X, NERA)

Possible Causes

  1. Oxidized or dirty charging contacts (very common) – Dirt, grass, or oxidation prevent current flow
  2. Charging station not level – Mower does not dock correctly
  3. Obstacles in docking area – Leaves, toys, or branches block the entrance
  4. Damaged low-voltage cable to charging station – Cable damaged by garden work
  5. Defective power supply or blown fuse – No power supply to charging station

Step-by-Step Solutions

Solution 1: Clean Charging Contacts

Time Required: 5 minutes

  1. Turn off the mower (press STOP button)
  2. Clean the charging contacts on the mower with a fine scouring pad or sandpaper (400 grit)
  3. Clean the contact plates on the charging station thoroughly
  4. Optional: Use contact spray for better conductivity
  5. Dry all contacts thoroughly
Tools Needed: Fine scouring pad or sandpaper (400 grit), contact spray (optional), brush, cloth
Tip: For heavy oxidation (greenish discoloration), fine sandpaper works better than a sponge. Afterwards, always treat with contact spray.

Solution 2: Realign Charging Station

Time Required: 10-15 minutes

  1. Check with a spirit level if the charging station is level
  2. Ensure that 2 meters of straight approach in front of the station are clear
  3. Level the ground under the charging station with sand or gravel if necessary
  4. Remove leaves, toys, and other obstacles from the docking area
  5. Maintain lateral clearances of at least 30 cm
Important: The charging station must be absolutely level! Even a few degrees of tilt can cause docking problems. The charging contacts must meet perfectly.

Solution 3: Check Power Supply and Cables

Time Required: 5-10 minutes

  1. Check if the power supply is plugged into the socket
  2. Check the house fuse (circuit breaker)
  3. Disconnect the low-voltage cable at the charging station and reconnect it
  4. Check the cable for visible damage (rodent bite marks, cut points)
  5. For EPOS models: Also check the support-by-wire cable for breaks
LED Diagnosis:
• Green = Everything OK
• Blue flashing = No loop signal (cable break)
• Yellow = Low signal strength
• No light = No power supply

When Should You Consult a Professional?

With a defective circuit board in the charging station or damaged transformer, professional replacement is necessary. If there is still no signal after all cleaning measures, the charging station should be professionally inspected. Recurring problems despite clean contacts may also indicate an electrical problem.

We offer professional diagnostics and stock all original spare parts for charging stations.

Preventive Measures

  • Clean charging contacts monthly – Especially after rain and in autumn (leaves)
  • Place charging station under cover – Protection from direct weather extends service life
  • Keep docking area clear – Regularly remove leaves and dirt
  • Annual cable inspection – Check power supply and low-voltage cable for damage
  • Correct installation – During installation, ensure that charging station is permanently level
Pro Tip: Apply a thin layer of dielectric grease to the charging contacts to prevent oxidation. This protects the contacts from moisture and extends maintenance intervals.
